"Yesterday, Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Taras Kutovyi decided to resign ... I'm sorry to hear he has made such a decision, but I respect it," the prime minister said.

He went on to say that a list of possible candidates for the post of the head of the ministry would be made after consultations with the coalition. The new minister should be appointed in the near future since the agricultural sector remains very important for the Ukrainian economy, Groysman stressed.

"We need to begin consultations with the coalition on the adoption by the parliament of the necessary decisions on the minister’s resignation at his request and on possible candidates who will be submitted to the parliament," he said.

Groysman also stressed the government's intention to continue implementing the initiated programs to support the Ukrainian agricultural sector.

"Today, it is very important for us to continue our strong support of the agribusiness sector and ensure its growth, as well as implementation of all the initiated programs, that is the allocation of 1% of gross agricultural output to the agricultural sector, as well as a program to support agricultural engineering," the prime minister said.
