PGO: US$1.1 bln seized from Yanukovych's allies already in Ukraine's coffers

Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has shared a document showing that US$1.1 billion, which has been seized from the allies of Viktor Yanukovych, the deposed president of Ukraine living in exile in Russia, has already been transferred to the Ukrainian national budget.

This is stated in a response from the State Treasury Service of Ukraine to the PGO's request posted by the Ukrainian news portal Ukrayinska Pravda.

"In accordance with a bank statement received by the Treasury on May 3, as much as $1,117,273,660 was transferred to Oschadbank's account with the state budget on April 28 in pursuance of a March 28 ruling by the court of Kramatorsk in Donetsk region in case No. 234/4135/17," the Treasury's document says.

Read alsoPoroshenko: $1.1 bln seized from Yanukovych's regime credited to State Treasury's accounts In addition, it also states that UAH 1,093,854 was sent on April 28, 2017, to the account opened in the national currency under the code "Confiscated Funds by a Court Order for Committing a Corrupt Offense."

It is also noted that there was UAH 108,134 on the Treasury account as of February 27, 2014, whereas there was UAH 46,258,986,287 as of May 22, 2017.
