Share of loss-makers in Ukraine shrinks to 36.1% in Q1

The share of Ukrainian enterprises that posted losses in the first quarter of 2017 shrank to 36.1% from 39.7% year-over-year, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Large and medium companies, excluding banks, posted UAH 102.615 billion, or US$3.9 billion, in pre-tax profit in Q1 2017 against UAH 58.556 billion, or $2.22 billion, in loss in the same period of 2016, the service said in a quarterly update on its website.

The statistical data does not include reports from occupied areas in Crimea, Sevastopol and Donbas.

As UNIAN reported earlier, large and medium companies, excluding banks, posted UAH 75.651 billion in pre-tax profit in 2016 against UAH 236.566 billion in loss in 2015.
