Sales of new cars in Ukraine rose by a third in January-May 2017 year-over- year (y-o-y), to 30,000 units, according to the Ukrautoprom Association's press service.
The market of new passenger cars saw a 48% increase in May 2017 y-o-y (6,600 cars sold), while the car sales grew by 2% against April 2017, the report said.
Toyota was the most popular brand in Ukraine, its sales soared by 62% in May 2017 y-o-y, to 882 vehicles.
French brand Renault ranked second in terms of sales with 709 cars sold in May 2017, which was 71% up y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, sales of new cars in Ukraine grew by 11% in April 2017 y-o-y, to 6,346 units.
Ukraine saw a 41% rise in sales of new cars in 2016, estimated at 65,500 units. Experts forecast that sales of passenger cars in 2017 will grow by a third.
