Ukrainian cruise liner unexpectedly deflects from course, heading for Russia's Rostov

Ukraine’s General Vatutin river-sea-type cruise liner has not entered the final destination port on its Kyiv-Odesa cruise and is now heading for Russia's Rostov, according to the Odesa-based Dumskaya newspaper.

On June 1, it left Kyiv for the so-called "hot tour" cruise. Having skipped the Odesa sea port, the vessel moved from Kherson to Izmail, and then made a jump to Vilkove, Dumskaya wrote.

Yesterday, at 05:00 Kyiv time, the ship departed from Vylkove and suddenly headed toward Russian-occupied Crimea in an apparently unauthorized move.

After lying at anchor overnight off the southern coast of the occupied peninsula, the cruise liner this morning continued moving along its renegade course.

The Ukrainian Navigation Register says the owner of the liner is Breeze Cruise Lines Limited, home port Kherson.

Chervona Ruta cruise travel operator told Dumskaya that the company has no information on the vessel’s movement.
