Kyiv customs sees 20% rise in volume of cleared goods in five months

The Kyiv City Customs of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFS) has increased the volume of cleared goods by 20% in January – May, 2017 year-over-year, acting chief of the customs Serhiy Tupalsky said at a meeting of the Public Council under the SFS in Kyiv.

He also said that the number of customs declarations issued by the Kyiv customs grew by 23% compared to the previous year, the number of business entities which carried out foreign economic activity at customs soared by 37%, while budget revenues rose by 18.1%, to UAH 16.6 billion.

Due to the overfulfilment of targets, it was possible to accumulate over UAH 400 million for the municipal budget, which will allow more road repairs across the city Tupalsky said.

The official also specified that vehicles, spare parts, communication facilities, computer hardware, and household appliances were the main groups of goods subject to customs clearance procedures.

Read alsoUkraine sees 80% rise in car imports in Q1However, Tupalsky noted that he and his colleagues had not managed to significantly reduce the average speed of customs clearance routine, which normally takes 3 hours and 3 minutes. Last year, it was 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Over the five months of 2017, the Kyiv City Customs reported 449 violations of customs regulations worth UAH 90.5 million.
