The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to abolish government regulation of food prices from July 1, according to the government website.
In particular, producers will no longer be obliged to declare prices for food products, as well as to justify the need for price changes to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
According to the explanatory note to the Cabinet decision, the abolition of state regulation will enable the elimination of the excessive administrative pressure on businesses, make production investment-attractive and provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to adapt more quickly to market conditions.

In late December, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that the experiment with the lifting of state regulation had been justified and did not lead to an acceleration of inflation.
