Local budgets' revenue grows by almost third in 5 months

Thanks to Ukraine's decentralization reform, local budgets' revenue soared by 34.3% in January-May 2017 year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 72.3 billion, or US$2.8 billion, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing.

"In January-May, the total fund of local budgets (excluding transfers) received UAH 72.3 billion, which accounted for 44.5% of the annual revenue approved by local councils. The local budgets' general fund revenue was estimated at UAH 18.4 billion in January-March 2017, which was 34.3% up y-o-y, the press service quoted Minister for Regional Development, Construction, and Housing Hennadiy Zubko as saying.

As UNIAN reported earlier, local budgets' general fund revenue grew by almost 40% in the first quarter of 2017 y-o-y, to UAH 41.6 billion.
