The Ukrainian banking sector is becoming more concentrated, while the country's 20 largest banks now account for 91% of the sector's net assets, according to the presentation on the NBU's website.
According to the regulator estimates, the state's share in the banking sector increased to 56% in net assets and to 62% in retail deposits.
As reported earlier, assets of banks operating in Ukraine, excluding the insolvent financial institutions, grew by UAH 1.885 billion, or by 0.2%, in January-April, 2017, to UAH 1.258 trillion.
