International trader Trafigura licensed to supply gas to Ukraine

Ukraine's National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities has issued a gas supplier's license to Trafigura Ukraine, a subsidiary of one of the world's largest energy traders, Trafigura.

The decision was unanimously taken at a Commission meeting.

"I'd like to greet Trafigura Ukraine, one of the world's largest energy traders, with getting the license and the possibility of work as a natural gas supplier," Commission head Dmytro Vovk said during the commission meeting.

Trafigura opened its Kyiv office late in May 2017.

It imported up to 10 million cubic meters of gas to Ukraine in November-December 2016, according to estimates of the Exploration & Production Consulting firm.
