Odesa oil refinery returned to state ownership, readied for repeat privatization

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has announced that Odesa's Suvorivsky district court has ruled that PJSC Odesa oil refinery should be transferred to state ownership.

"In the framework of an agreement concluded with the investigation, the district court of Odesa has passed a verdict on special confiscation of the integrated property complex of Odesa Oil Refinery [earlier used] as a tool of a crime committed by the criminal organization of [fugitive Ukrainian businessman, ex-President Viktor Yanukovych's ally Serhiy] Kurchenko. The plant has become the property of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on behalf of the state," Lutsenko wrote on Facebook on Monday, June 19.

He thanked Odesa region's prosecutor Oleh Zhuchenko (appointed on June 16, 2016) and judges of the district court.

The refinery is subject to repeat privatization.
