Retail trade in Ukraine grows by 7.1% in five months

Retail trade in Ukraine rose by 7.1% in January-May 2017 year-over-year (y-o-y) in comparable prices, to UAH 298.043 billion, or US$11.4 billion, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service's website.

Retail turnover increased most in Zakarpattia region (by 22.2%, to UAH 6.86 billion), Vinnytsia region (by 14.1%, to UAH 7.77 billion), Odesa region (by 12.2%, to UAH 22.6 billion), Sumy region (by 10%, to UAH 5.9 billion), Lviv region (by 18.37%, to UAH 4.37 billion), and Kyiv region (by 8.9%, to UAH 58.7 billion).

At the same time, the largest decline in retail trade growth in January-May 2017 was recorded in Volyn region (by 11.8%, to UAH 5.6 billion).

The wholesale turnover of the enterprises in May 2017 alone increased by 10.7% y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported, retail trade in Ukraine rose by 5.8% in January-April 2017 y-o-y in comparable prices, to UAH 226.749 billion, or US$8.6 billion.

In 2016, retail trade in Ukraine grew by 3.7% from 2015 (in comparable prices), to UAH 1.159 trillion, or $44 billion.
