Ukraine sees US$1 bln in budget surplus in five months

Ukraine saw UAH 26.468 billion, or US$1.014 billion, in the surplus of the national budget in January-May 2017 against UAH 26.447 billion, or US$1.013 billion, in the deficit for the same period of the previous year, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

Revenue of the budget in the first five months of 2017 amounted to UAH 325.773 billion, while expenses totaled UAH 300.039 billion.

In addition, UAH 0.734 billion in crediting was repaid to the budget.

Revenue of the consolidated budget for the first five months of 2017 amounted to UAH 408.873 billion, expenses stood at UAH 359.030 billion.

As UNIAN reported, the budget deficit of Ukraine in 2016 amounted to UAH 70.130 billion, or 2.9% of GDP.

The state budget of Ukraine for 2017 foresees UAH 731 billion in revenues and UAH 800 billion in expenses, the deficit is limited to UAH 77.5 billion, or 3% of GDP.
