Danyliuk, Lagarde talk Ukraine-IMF cooperation

Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk met with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde at the IMF conference in Dubrovnik to discussed issues of IMF-Ukraine cooperation, according to the ministry's tweet.

"Minister Danyliuk met with Lagarde in Dubrovnik. They discussed cooperation with the IMF, that is pension, land, anti-corruption reforms, privatization, and SFS [the State Fiscal Service]," the tweet said.

The meeting took place within the framework of the conference on renewing development in Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and the role of public administration and institutions, which is being held under the auspices of the IMF and the Central Bank of Croatia in the city of Dubrovnik.

However, the relevant legislative initiatives have not been considered in parliament yet.

According to Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, the IMF will postpone the allocation of the next tranche to Ukraine worth $1.9 billion due to the unpreparedness of the parliament to adopt a land reform before the end of the current session (July 15). The reform provides for the purchase and sale of agricultural land by Ukrainian citizens.
