Ukraine's government suggests excluding gas transport system from privatization list

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has endorsed a bill to put a new operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS), PJSC Trunk Gas Pipelines of Ukraine, on the list of state-owned assets that are not subject to privatization, according to the Cabinet's press service.

"At a meeting on July 19, 2017, the government endorsed a bill amending the law of Ukraine on the list of state-owned facilities that are not subject to privatization," the report said.

The bill is aimed at ensuring proper identification of PJSC Trunk Gas Pipelines of Ukraine as a facility that cannot be put up for sale.

As part of this reform, on November 9, 2016, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers decided to create a new company, the GTS operator, PJSC Trunk Gas Pipelines of Ukraine.
