"We will table a new draft budget for 2018 in September. The government will propose that the parliament approve at least UAH 1 billion in budget funds for targeted support under programs for the development of farming," Groysman said at a forum on decentralization in the city of Ternopil on July 20.

In his words, the development of farming can become the basis for accelerating the country's economic growth, among other things, by raising the level of processing of raw materials and producing value-added commodities.

As part of the land reform, the government is considering the possibility for Ukrainian citizens to purchase up to 200 hectares of land per capita, while for family agri-businesses– up to 1,000 hectares per each.

The memorandum with the International Monetary Fund assumes the launch of the agricultural land market in Ukraine in 2018.
