Ukraine's economy ministry projects 1% growth in industrial output by Sept 2017

Ukraine's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade estimates that the industrial production in Ukraine will grow by 1% in January-September 2017 year-over-year (y-o-y), according to the analytical report published on the ministry's website.

"Industrial production is expected to grow by 1% within nine months of 2017," reads the document.

The ministry projects the continued positive dynamics in consumer areas – food industry and textile production – due to the expansion of households' demand.

In addition, the growth is expected in investment sectors because of high investment demand.

In general, the industry is expected to grow by the end of the year, taking into account the possibility of diversifying energy sources' supplies and continued revival of economic activity of businesses.

At the same time, escalation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine and unfavorable prices in commodity markets can become risks for the industrial growth.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine saw the growth of industrial production in June 2017 for the second consecutive month, which accelerated by 3.8% y-o-y against 1.2% in May 2017 y-o-y.
