Ukraine's energy ministry revises upwards nuclear power generation for Aug 2017

Ukraine's Energy and Coal Industry Ministry has revised upwards its forecast for nuclear power generation in August 2017 by 1.1% compared to the previously approved monthly plan, to 5.676 billion kWh, according to the annual electricity balance forecast.

Electricity production by thermal power plants and combined heat and power plants in August 2017 is expected to decline compared to the previous forecast by 0.8%, to 5.682 billion kWh, the ministry said in its updated balance forecast on its website.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the share of nuclear generation in the total balance of the country's electricity production was 58.2% in the first half of 2017. At the same time, electricity generation by thermal power plants accounted for 32.2%, while the share of electricity produced at hydroelectric power plants (HPPs and PSPPs) was 7.6%. Alternative energy output accounted for a mere 1.1%, the ministry said.
