Ukrainian Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Lavreniuk says Ukraine is now working to prepare a lawsuit in connection with the losses being incurred due to the construction of the Kerch bridge linking Russia's mainland with the occupied Crimean peninsula, according to the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry.
"The Ministry of Justice, within the framework of existing lawsuits against Russia, is singling out the issue related to the blocking of the Kerch Canal and the introduction of restrictions as part of the judicial process. A lawsuit is currently being prepared and losses of income by the Mariupol and Berdyansk commercial ports are being estimated," he said at a meeting with trade unions of sea and river ports.
Read alsoUkraine adds more Russian, Crimean transport enterprises to sanction list The problem related to the construction of the Kerch port, which was emphasized by the trade unions of the Berdyansk port, is now being addressed jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, he said.

As UNIAN reported, under a project for the construction of the Kerch bridge by the Russian occupying authorities, Russia's Transport Ministry wants to suspend shipping across the strait for 23 days for installation of spanning bridge arches. In addition, after the bridge is built, some ships will not be able to sail across the Kerch Strait due to the improper draft of vessels.
