Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says the ProZorro public e-procurement system has allowed Ukraine to save UAH 19.1 billion, or US$738.6 million, of budget funds since August 1, 2016, due to reducing prices as a result of competition.
"Thanks to ProZorro we have managed to save UAH 19.1 billion of budget funds in a year. This is a large figure with potential to growth," the prime minister wrote on Facebook.
Read alsoUkraine's property fund drafts new privatization bill to sell smaller companies via ProZorroAs UNIAN reported earlier, the number of public procurements via ProZorro has increased by 5.5 times, to 991,500 transactions, while their total amounts soared almost 10 times, to UAH 725 billion, or $28 billion, since the norm on their mandatory use for all above-threshold purchases came into force on August 1, 2016.
Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry said it planned to save UAH 50 billion, or $1.9 billion, in 2017 due to ProZorro.
