UAE lifts restrictions on Ukrainian poultry

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted restrictions on Ukrainian poultry imports imposed earlier due to bird flu outbreaks, according to the Ukrainian State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service's press service.

"According to the World Trade Organization, the UAE lifted temporary restrictions on the imports of Ukrainian domestic and wild fowl, as well as products made of it that were imposed on Ukraine in connection with registered outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza," the report said.

Restrictions on shipments of one-day chickens and eggs were cancelled as well.

In particular, Hong Kong, Yemen, the European Union, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, China, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates in March imposed a ban on the supply of poultry products from all over Ukraine because of bird flu outbreaks.

In June, Iraq lifted the ban on poultry imports from Ukraine, introduced in the middle of March.

Later, Saudi Arabia also abolished the ban on Ukrainian poultry.

Furthermore, Qatar lifted restrictions on poultry shipments from Ukraine after their temporary suspension due to avian influenza.
