Another citizen of Poland to head state-run company in Ukraine

The candidacy of Pawel Stanczak, a citizen of Poland and a top manager from Polish PGNiG, is being considered for president of PJSC Ukrtransgaz, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transit system, according to the economic news portal Ekonomichna Pravda.

Stanczak was nominated by CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy Kobolev, Ekonomichna Pravda reported with reference to its source.

"There will be a meeting of PJSC's supervisory board on August 7 to endorse Stanczak's nomination. He is most likely to be approved," the source said.

Two months ago, Kobolev nominated Willem Coppoolse as Ukrtransgaz's president, but Naftogaz's supervisory board declined to appoint him, citing insufficient qualification.

UNIAN memo. Ukrtransgaz is wholly owned by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. Ukrtransgaz operates 12 underground gas storages (USFs) with a total working capacity of about 31 billion cubic meters. The USFs are an integral part of Ukraine's gas supply system and gas transit through its territory. The company is also the operator of the main gas pipelines, through which natural gas is exported from the Russian Federation to the EU countries, as well as imported to Ukraine from EU countries.
