Ukrainian gas reserves grow to 13.4 bcm within week

Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) on July 29 – August 5 rose by 2.7%, or 355 million cubic meters, from 13.069 billion cubic meters to 13.424 bcm, according to the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

The daily volume of gas injection into the USFs was estimated at 55.42 million cubic meters, as of August 5.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk announced plans to accumulate 17 bcm of gas in USFs by October 1, 2017, to pass the 2017-2018 heating season.

As a result, Ukraine began the 2016-2017 heating season with gas reserves at 14.7 bcm, completing it with 8.4 bcm.
