National Bank transfers another UAH 5 bln of profit to budget

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on August 7 transferred to the state budget the fifth disbursement of its profit worth UAH 5 billion, or US$194 million, according to the regulator's Facebook page.

The NBU has to transfer another UAH 14.4 billion ($559 million) out of the total amount of its profit at UAH 44.4 billion ($1.7 billion), which should be transferred to Ukraine's state budget during this year.

Such tranches are designed to mitigate the impact of changes government funds on fluctuations in the liquidity of the banking system and contribute to the achievement of the NBU's inflationary goals.
