World Bank may purchase goods, services via Ukraine's ProZorro

The World Bank has completed the evaluation of ProZorro e-procurement system for compliance with the requirements of the Multilateral Development Bank, making positive conclusions, which is the basis for deciding whether to purchase goods and services via ProZorro for the bank projects in Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

"This is excellent news for ProZorro and yet another international recognition of its performance. We hope we will see the first tenders of the World Bank on ProZorro [platform] as early as in a few months, and the Ukrainian business will be able to take part in them publicly," Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maksym Nefyodov said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said the ProZorro public e-procurement system had allowed Ukraine to save UAH 19.1 billion, or US$742.6 million, of budget funds since August 1, 2016, due to reducing prices as a result of competition.

Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Ministry plans to save UAH 50 billion, or $1.9 billion, in 2017 due to ProZorro.
