Ukraine economy grows by 2.4% in Q2 2017

The gross domestic product of Ukraine in the second quarter of 2017 grew by 2.4% in annual terms, compared to the second quarter of 2016, as reported on the website of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine with reference to its operational estimates.

Compared with the first quarter of 2017, Ukraine’s gross domestic product in the second quarter of the year rose by 0.6%, taking into account the seasonal factor, the report says.

In general, in 2016, Ukraine's GDP grew by 2.3%, while growth was recorded for the first time in four years.

According to the forecasts of the National Bank of Ukraine, the country’s GDP growth in 2017 is expected at 1.6%.

The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund predict GDP growth in Ukraine in 2017 by 2%.
