Jordan lifts ban on Ukrainian poultry

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has lifted restrictions on Ukrainian poultry imports imposed earlier due to bird flu outbreaks, according to the Ukrainian State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service's press service.

The Embassy of Ukraine to Jordan has sent the relevant letter to the Ukrainian state service.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in mid-March, Yemen, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar and China imposed temporary restrictions on exports of poultry meat and poultry products from all over Ukraine due to bird flu outbreaks. Moreover, the European Union, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong imposed ban on imports of poultry meat, eggs and poultry products from Ukrainian regions where bird flu outbreaks had been recorded.

The outbreaks of bird flu in Ukraine were recorded in Kherson region in November 2016. Previous bird flu outbreaks were registered in Ukraine's Crimea in 2008 (four cases).

Noteworthy, the veterinary experts have not recorded bird flu outbreaks in Ukraine over the past three months.
