Ukraine imports almost 6.7 bcm of gas in 7 months

Ukraine in January-July 2017 imported 6.654 billion cubic meters of natural gas totaling US$1.538 billion, according to the State Statistics Service.

Ukraine received 26.1 million cubic meters of gas worth $6.2 million from traders registered in Austria, 268 million cubic meters worth $63.4 million from the United Kingdom, 10.2 million cubic meters worth $2.2 million from Italy, 88.8 million cubic meters worth $19.2 million from Luxembourg, 2.1 billion cubic meters worth $483.3 million from Germany, 621.8 million cubic meters worth $136.1 million from Poland, 29.5 million cubic meters worth $7 million from Slovakia, 157.9 million cubic meters worth $34.1 million from Hungary, 7.76 million cubic meters worth $1.8 million from the Czech Republic, and 2.7 billion cubic meters worth $630.8 million from Switzerland, the report says.

In general, the country doubled gas imports from Europe in 2015 from 2014, to 10.3 billion cubic meters, reducing by 56.5% the purchase of hydrocarbons from Russia.

In 2016, Ukraine imported 11.1 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe alone. In particular, 9.1 billion cubic meters arrived from Slovakia, 1 billion cubic meters from Hungary, and 1 billion cubic meters from Poland.
