The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine during searches at six state distilleries in Vinnytsia, Sumy, Ternopil and Kharkiv regions, which are not part of the Ukrspyrt state-owned enterprise, has seized 1,416 tonnes of alcohol-containing products worth over UAH 360 million, the press service of the agency said.
"In the process of documenting the operations of clandestine facilities for the production of alcoholic beverages or counterfeit alcohol, we often record the fact of unaccounted purchases of alcohol, later used by offenders as raw materials for the illegal production of horilka. That is why it is important for us to track the entire supply route or illegal alcohol production," the press service quoted First Deputy Chairman of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Serhiy Bilan.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on July 24, a massive raid was carried out at more than three dozen Ukrainian distilleries, suspected of manufacturing counterfeit alcohol, during which the officers seized about 980 tonnes of alcohol-containing products for an estimated amount of more than UAH 180 million.
