Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has announced that Qatar Airways, the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, made its first flight to Kyiv on August 28.
"The world's best airline – Qatar Airways – has carried out its first flight to Kyiv!" he wrote on Facebook and posted a picture of that company's plane at Kyiv's Boryspil Airport.
Qatar Airways flies to more than 150 destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania.
Its economy class was named best in the world in the 2009 and 2010 Skytrax Awards.
The company's fleet includes Boeing 777 planes and various models of Airbus.
