Ukraine exports almost 6 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian farmers exported 5.8 million tonnes of grain from July 1, 2017, when the 2017-2018 marketing year started, to August 30, 2017, according to the press service of Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.

In particular, they exported 2.84 million tonnes of wheat, 1.86 million tonnes of barley, and 1.08 million tonnes of maize.

What is more, 40,000 tonnes of flour was shipped abroad over the period under review.

At the same time, revenue from grain exports increased by 6%, to US$6.4 billion.

The previous record of grain exports in Ukraine was registered in the 2015-2016 MY at the level of 39.4 million tonnes.

Ukraine harvested 65.95 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops in 2016, which was 9.7% up from 2015. It was also a record yield of grain over the country's independence, according to the State Statistics Service.
