Ukraine's Finance Ministry boasts budget surplus exceeding UAH 1 bln

The surplus of Ukraine's national budget in January-July 2017 was UAH 27.003 billion, or US$1.004 billion, against UAH 49.945 billion, or US$1.92 billion, in deficit in the same period of 2016, according to the Ukrainian Finance Ministry.

Budget revenue in the seven months of 2017 totaled UAH 447.715 billion, or US$17.22 billion, while spending was UAH 420.489 billion, or US$16.17 billion, the ministry said.

The surplus of the consolidated budget, which consists of the national and local budgets, stood at UAH 52.820 billion, or US$2.03 billion, while there was a UAH 22.884 billion ($880 million) deficit in the same period of 2016.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's national budget in 2016 was UAH 70.130 billion ($2.7 billion), or 2.9% of GDP.

The Ukrainian national budget for 2017 foresees UAH 731 billion, or US$28.12 billion, in revenue and UAH 800 billion, or US$30.77 billion, in expenditures. The budget deficit is limited to 3% of GDP, or UAH 77.5 billion ($2.98 billion).
