Ukraine saw a 16% decline in steel production in January-August 2017 year-over-year, to 13.83 million tonnes, according to the Ukrmetprom Association.
Rolled stock output over the period under review fell by 18% to 11.8 million tonnes, while pig iron production fell by 20% to 12.77 million tonnes, it said.

As UNIAN reported, steel production in Ukraine in 2016 increased by 6% from 2015, to 24.2 million tonnes, rolled stock output grew by 6%, to 21.41 million tonnes. Pig iron production rose by 8%, to 23.59 million tonnes. Coke production in 2016 increased by 10%, to 12.73 million tonnes.
