Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed into force with a relevant decree the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine with proposals to the draft Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2018" in part of the costs of the national security and defense, the presidential administration reports.
The overall security and defense budget shall account for at least 5% of the gross domestic product, according to the signed proposals.
Security and defense funding in 2018 should amount to no less than UAH 165 372.3 million, including no less than UAH 158 997.3 million - from the general fund of the State Budget of Ukraine and UAH 6,375.0 million coming from budget’s special fund, according to the presidential administration.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 2018 should get from the budget’s general fund some UAH 81 689.2 million, and another UAH 1 625.3 million from the special fund.

Some UAH 24 277.2 million will be provided from the budget’s general fund for the National Police of Ukraine. Another UAH 90.0 million will come from the special fund.
The Border Guard Administration in 2018 should get UAH 9 010.6 million at the expense of the budget’s general fund and another UAH 33.2 million from the special fund.
