Ukraine imports 7.8 bcm of gas from 10 European countries in seven months – statistics

Ukraine imported 7.797 billion cubic meters of gas to the tune of US$1.776 billion January through July 2017, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service.

Austrian-registered companies shipped 26.1 million cubic meters (mcm) of gas worth US$6.2 million, traders from Britain shipped 313 mcm worth US$73.1 million, those from Italy 10.2 mcm for US$2.2 million. Traders from Luxembourg sold 88.8 mcm worth US$19.2 million, those from Germany 2.5 bcm worth US$572.7 million. Poland supplied 727.5 mcm worth US$157.4 million, Slovakia 50.4 mcm worth US$11.6 million, Hungary 209.4 mcm worth US$45.1 million, the Czech Republic 7.7 mcm worth US$1.8 million, and Switzerland 3.2 bcm worth US$732.7 million.

In total, Ukraine doubled gas imports from Europe in 2015 from to 2014, to 10.3 bcm.

In 2016, Ukraine imported 11.1 bcm of gas from the EU alone. In particular, Slovakia supplied 9.1 bcm, Hungary and Poland 1 bcm each.
