Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has announced that the court's ruling to confiscate the funds stolen by allies of the ousted Ukrainian ex-president, Viktor Yanukovych, came into effect on Thursday, September 22.
"Today the decision of the Sosnovsky District Court of the city of Cherkasy on another special confiscation of Yanukovych mafia's banking assets to the tune of US$200 million has come into force. Dogs may bark, while our caravan moves on," Lutsenko wrote on Facebook.

"We will announce a special confiscation of another $200 million of Yanukovych's minions in a day, and another $200 million later in a month. We are constantly working to return Ukraine money Yanukovych has stolen," he said.
According to the official, the PGO has already returned to the state budget some $1.5 billion, plundered by Yanukovych and his allies.
He also noted that this is the largest special confiscation ever carried out by a single state across Europe.
