The current pace of Ukrainian wheat exports is the fastest except for last year’s record, UkrAgroConsult reports.
According to preliminary data coming from market participants, Ukraine exported 2.4 MMT of wheat in August 2017/18, or 21% less than at the same time last marketing year, UkrAgroConsult wrote.
At the time, the key end market for Ukrainian wheat was Egypt.
Remarkably, shipments to this country in the first months of the current season were up 39% year-on-year. Ukraine exported 465.5 KMT of wheat to the Egyptian market in July-August 2017/18 against 335.8 KMT at the same time last season.

As reported earlier, UkrAgroConsult estimates Ukraine’s wheat export potential in the 2017/18 season by 1MMT lower compared to record exports in 2016/17.
