The controlling stake in the state-owned turbine producer Turboatom should remain in state ownership, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said at a Thursday briefing in Kharkiv.
"At least 51% of [stakes in] Turboatom must remain in state ownership. This is it," Groysman said.
At the same time, the prime minister stressed that foreign companies that are world leaders can take part in managing Ukraine’s state enterprises.
Turboatom , just like Electrotyazhmash, can attract for cooperation various companies from around the world. Today more can be done in cooperation than alone. So we can consider partnership with other world companies, world leaders who can take part in the management of these companies, this is absolutely normal," Groysman said.
In addition, he recalled that representatives of the aggressor state cannot participate in the privatization of Ukrainian assets under the law.
As UNIAN reported, the State Property Fund of Ukraine planned in November 2017 to put up for privatization 75.22% of shares in Turboatom. In a letter of intent to the International Monetary Fund, the Ukrainian authorities also announced their intention to privatize Turboatom in the fall of this year.

Turboatom’s structure includes two special design bureaus, technological units, research laboratories, a procurement base, mechanical production capacities, and those for testing power equipment. The management of the state part of shares in PJSC Turboatom is carried out by the State Property Fund of Ukraine, which owns 75.22% of the shares.
