Ukrtransgaz to buy over 1.2 bcm of gas from Naftogaz for industrial needs

State-owned operator of Ukraine's gas transportation system Ukrtransgaz will purchase over 1.2 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas worth almost UAH 8 billion, or US$302 million, from the National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine for industrial and technological needs, according to ProZorro e-procurement system.

The tender was split into six identical lots of 210 million cubic meters of gas each. The gas delivery schedule is set within the period of October 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018, according to the bid issue.

Four lots worth UAH 1.339 billion ($50.5 million) in total, while the other two are estimated at UAH 1.314 billion ($49.5 million).

UNIAN memo. Ukrtransgaz operates 12 underground gas storages facilities (USFs) with a total working capacity of about 31 bcm. The USFs are an integral part of Ukraine's gas supply system and gas transit through its territory. The company is also the operator of the main gas pipelines, through which natural gas is exported from the Russian Federation to the EU countries. Naftogaz of Ukraine owns 100% of Ukrtransgaz shares.
