Ukraine's balance of payments in January-August 2017 was reduced to a surplus of $1.282 billion, which is 2.4 times higher than the surplus for the same period last year at $533 million, the National Bank of Ukraine reported on its website.
In August, the balance of payments was reduced to a surplus of $518 million, which is 32 times higher than the surplus a year earlier, reads the report.
According to the NBU, the current account deficit was at $226 million in August and at $2.083 billion in January-August 2017.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine's balance of payments in 2016 was reduced to a surplus of $1.346 billion, which is 1.6 times higher than the surplus for 2015 at $849 million. At the same time, the balance was positive for the second consecutive year after a negative balance of $13.3 billion in 2014.
