A newly launched plant in Kyiv region's Boryspil district will produce artificial turf for football and athletic fields, according to the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU).
"The Football Federation of Ukraine has become the world's first national football association that owns such a production facility," the FFU's press service told UNIAN.
The large-scale project was implemented without involvement of budgetary funds and in the shortest possible time, it said.
The plant was officially opened on September 30.

"The capacity of the new plant today is about 700,000 square meters of artificial turf – about 100 full-size football fields or more than 700 sites whose area is 42x22 m. However, if necessary ... the production capacity can be increased to 2,000 square meters of artificial turf per year," the report said.
