Ukraine's gas imports from Slovakia down early October

Ukraine reduced imports of natural gas from Slovakia in early October compared to the average daily volumes in the end of the previous month, according to Slovakia's gas operator Eustream.

In particular, as of October 1, the import of natural gas from Slovakia, which accounts for about 80% of Ukraine's hydrocarbon imports from the EU, declined by 44% compared to September 30, from 26.011 million cubic meters to 14.682 mcm.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine imported 11.1 bcm of gas in 2016, which was 7.8% up against 2015. Ukraine imported gas from the EU alone in 2016. In particular, 9.1 bcm arrived from Slovakia, 1 bcm from Hungary, and 1 bcm from Poland.

Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) on September 23-30 rose by 2.2%, or 347 million cubic meters, from 16.048 billion cubic meters to 16.395 bcm.
