Poland vows to ban coal supplies from occupied Donbas

Polish Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchórzewski assured that the authorities would probe into coal supplies from the areas of Donbas temporarily occupied by Russian proxy forces and further such supplies would be banned, Ukrainian Energy Minister Ihor Nasalyk said, according to 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"When we met with the minister, we noted this issue, and we received assurances that a full-fledged probe would be carried out and that such supplies would be banned. I managed to meet with the journalist who published the first part of the investigation (there will be the second and third parts) related to the supply of anthracite from the occupied parts of Donbas not only to Poland, but also to other European countries. So now, the main task is to ultimately block this process," said Nasalyk.

Earlier Polish Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchorzewski confirmed that coal extracted in the occupied part of the Ukrainian Donbas had actually arrived in Poland. According to him, the deliveries amounted to some 11,000 tonnes. The Polish minister noted that is the amount used by a single energy unit at power station per day.
