Investment in Ukraine: Gov't preparing five new projects

In particular, a $150 million long-term financing project with the World Bank is aimed at financing the investment and innovative private-sector development projects.

A project to extend the third Kharkiv metro line involves an investment of EUR 150 million from the EBRD and EUR 154.5 million from the European Investment Bank.

Moreover, the Finance Ministry together with the Ministry of Education and Science are developing a project worth EUR 108 million on higher education of Ukraine with the participation of the European Investment Bank.

UNIAN memo. The World Bank is an international financial institution that provides financial and technical assistance to developing countries. Over the past two years, the World Bank Group has provided Ukraine with about $4.7 billion in the form of budgetary financial assistance, investment operations, and private sector financing.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development provides support to Ukraine for implementing important reforms, participating in dozens of projects. The financing of the current projects exceeds EUR 4 billion.

The European Investment Bank is the European Union's long-term financing institution to finance the development of lagging European regions.
