PM Groysman pledges support for small, medium farms

"We are paying special attention in the 2018 budget draft to the development of the agro-industrial complex. I promised it, and this is a priority. What exactly will the money be allocated for? We have never supported and will not support any oligarchs. We have different paths to follow… We are going to support domestic producers of high-quality agricultural products. We'll have to support small- and medium-sized agri-businesses," he said in parliament on October 20.

The official also noted that the government plans to support large-sized farms, livestock breeding, and agricultural machinery.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers suggests an increase in expenditures for the agrarian sector from UAH 6.3 billion ($237 billion) in 2017 to UAH 7.3 billion ($275 million) in the 2018 budget.
