Ukraine's state budget sees $558 mln surplus in nine months

The surplus of Ukraine's national budget in January-September 2017 was estimated at UAH 15 billion, or US$558 million, against a deficit at UAH 63.4 billion, or $2.4 billion, year-over-year (y-o-y), according to the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

The budget revenue over the period under review totaled UAH 585.756 billion, or $21.8 billion, while expenses amounted to UAH 571.069 billion, or $21.2 billion, the NBU said in a report.

The consolidated budget in January-September 2017 saw a surplus of UAH 41.656 billion ($1.5 billion) against a deficit of UAH 31.693 billion ($1.2 billion) y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine posted a budget deficit in 2016, which amounted to UAH 70.130 billion, or 2.9% of GDP.

Ukraine's national budget for 2017, taking into account adjustments, foresees revenues at UAH 771 billion and spending at UAH 841 billion. A threshold deficit level is placed at UAH 77.5 billion, which is also 3% of GDP.
