Profit of Tigipko's TAScombank soars by 22.5 times in nine months

TAScombank, owned by Ukrainian businessman Sergiy Tigipko, boosted its profit by 22.5 times in January-September 2017, to UAH 42.49 million, or US$1.6 million, according to the bank's website.

Since the beginning of the year, its assets have grown by 50.13%, to UAH 12.205 billion ($455 million), liabilities have increased by 52.2%, to UAH 11.380 billion ($424 million), while net worth has expanded to UAH 824.4 million ($30.7 million).

The bank is part of the financial and industrial TAS Group. Its major owner is Sergiy Tigipko who held senior positions during Viktor Yanukovych's presidency. Among them were the posts of deputy prime minister and minister of social policy in Mykola Azarov's government. He also served as central bank governor in 2003-2004.
