The Ukrmetprom metallurgy association has announced Ukraine saw a 13% decline in steel production in January-October 2017, year-over-year, to 17.66 million tonnes, according to a latest update.
Total production of rolled metal for this period decreased by 15%, to 15.18 million tonnes, while the output of pig iron fell by 17%, to 16.42 million tonnes.

As UNIAN reported before, Ukraine in 2016 boosted steel production by 6% from 2015, to 24.2 million tonnes. Total rolled metal output also increased by 6%, to 21.41 million tonnes, pig iron production increased by 8%, to 23.59 million tonnes. Coke output in 2016 was by 10% up, to 12.73 million tonnes.
