Ukrainians sell $2.4 mln more currency than buy in Oct

Net sales of cash foreign currency by Ukrainians through the banking system amounted to $2.4 million in October, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) website.

Forex purchases by the population through banks exceeded sales most recently in January 2015, when Ukrainians bought $19.4 million more than they sold. Following that, the sale of foreign currency by Ukrainians exceeded its purchase.

In January-October 2017, Ukrainians sold $2.033 billion more in foreign currency than they bought.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the net sales of foreign currency by the Ukrainian population in 2016 amounted to $2.48 billion, which was 1.6 times up year-over-year.
