Gazprom says new U.S. sanctions pose risks for gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine

"The introduction of the sanctions can create risks both for the implementation of the upcoming Turkish Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline projects and for the maintenance of the existing export gas pipelines such as Nord Stream and Blue Stream," the document says.

Gazprom recalls that after its enactment by U.S. President Donald Trump, the law on sanctions gives the U.S. president the right in cooperation (coordination) with the allies to introduce certain measures against any person who deliberately invested or sold goods, supplied technology or rendered services to the Russian Federation (in the amount of more than $1 million or in aggregate during the year for a total amount of more than $5 million) in the construction and maintenance of Russian pipelines exporting energy resources.
